New for 2020

Toyota designers rolled out their brand-new 2020 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road model this year, and Toyota drivers are excited. It's a rugged-looking version of the RAV4 with upgraded 18-inch wheels, TRD logos inside and out, a TRD Off-Road suspension kit with bright red coils, and all-terrain tires.

The entire lineup of RAV4 models now has Apple CarPlay^® and Android^™ Auto with SiriusXM^® Satellite Radio as standard equipment for the first time.

The available hybrid powertrain is a nice perk at this price point, as well.

RAV4 Fuel Economy and Safety

For the best EPA-estimate gas mileage, go for a hybrid RAV4 model. The Limited Hybrid with an electronic all-wheel drive transmission gets an EPA-estimated 40 mpg combined. The Limited with front-wheel drive gets a respectable EPA-estimated 30 mpg combined.

The Stop & Start Engine system comes standard with the RAV4 XLE Premium trim. The system reduces the fuel consumption of the vehicle by automatically shutting down the engine when the car is idling and restarting it when it's time to move.

The 2020 Toyota RAV4 has standard automatic emergency braking across the lineup. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2019 RAV4 their Top Safety Pick+ award and federal testers gave the SUV a five-star overall rating.

You'll get standard blind spot monitors on the XLE and higher trims. Automatic high beams, active lane control, and adaptive cruise control are nice safety features included with the RAV4, as well.

2020 Toyota RAV4 Lineup

With the addition of the TRD trim, the RAV4 is now available in six trim levels: the LE, XLE, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited. If you want a RAV4 Hybrid, you can choose from the LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited trim levels.

All of this year's RAV4 models come with the standard 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and 8-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid models offer the same engine with an electric motor and nickel-metal hydride battery paired with an electronic continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Front-wheel drive is standard on all models with optional all-wheel drive unless you choose the TRD Off-Road or Adventure model, where you'll get all-wheel drive standard.

Toyota RAV4 Features

With the base LE trim, you'll get cloth upholstery, one USB port, 17-inch wheels, a split-folding rear seat, and optional all-wheel drive.

Go one level higher to the XLE, and you'll enjoy fog lights, keyless ignition, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. Heated seats and additional safety features are popular add-ons at this level.

For the 2020 lineup, every model comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, but with the Adventure, Limited, and TRD Off-Road trims, you'll get an upgrade from the standard 7.0-inch touchscreen to the 8.0-inch version.

The Adventure trim also offers synthetic leather upholstery, 19-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, roof rails, a digital instrument cluster, and a 12V plug in the dash.
