Highlights of the Refreshed 2021 Toyota Camry

Come visit us at Spitzer Toyota in Monroeville to check out the 2021 Toyota Camry AWD specials. This year marks this model’s largest and most diverse lineup, including the first-ever XSE Hybrid with a money-saving, earth-friendly fuel economy. It also debuts Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ (TSS 2.5+), the newest version of Toyota’s groundbreaking driver assist technology.

Take your pick from 17 different choices of this clear-cut leader in midsize sedans including:

  • Three V6 trims—XLE, XSE, and TRD
  • Five 4-cylinder FWD trims—LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, XSE
  • Four hybrid trims—LE, XLE, SE, XSE (new)

Updates in Technology, Safety, and Style

This year’s Toyota Camry ups the ante with new advancements in technology, safety, and luxury. The restyled front ends add distinctions between trims while still maintaining its coupe-inspired design and well-known Toyota quality and value—just some of the reasons the Camry is one of the longest-running nameplates in the auto industry.

New looks for front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive Camry trims include accentuating and revising designs that reflect the comfort-oriented trims, such as the LE and XLE, and the sport-oriented trims, like the SE and XSE. The LE and XLE get wheel upgrades as well, with a new 17-inch alloy wheel design and redesigned 18-inch alloy wheel respectively.

Updated exterior colors also make the scene, with bold looks like Blueprint (replacing Blue Streak Metallic) and the new exclusive Ice Edge, with a two-tone Midnight Black Metallic roof, available on the Camry TRD.

Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Control All-Wheel Drive

The Toyota-developed Dynamic Torque Control All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system is now available as a stand alone option for the 4-cylinder LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, and Camry XSE trims. The All-Wheel Drive Camry runs on the high-efficiency 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine and the 8-speed Direct-Shift Automatic transmission.

Dynamic Torque Control AWD not only provides better traction in slippery and inclement weather, but minimizes AWD’s typical strain on the vehicle’s fuel economy. This is because the system directs up to 50 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels in response to acceleration from a standing start, or slippage at the front wheels.

All New Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+

The 2021 Toyota Camry is one of the first Toyota models to include TSS 2.5+, the latest iteration of Toyota’s safety system. Many of the features have been updated from the 2020 Toyota Camry, and enhanced to improve both safety and performance.

The Pre-Collision System w/ Pedestrian Detection now detects not only vehicles ahead, but also daytime bicyclists and daytime/low-light pedestrians. It also has enhanced intersection support that can help detect an oncoming vehicle or pedestrian on left-hand turns and provide audio/visual alerts and automatic braking (in certain circumstances).

This system now also includes Emergency Steering Assist, designed to stabilize the driver’s emergency steering maneuvers while avoiding a vehicle, bicyclist, or pedestrian. Other TSS 2.5+ features receiving upgrades are Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Lane Tracing Assist.

New TSS 2.5+ features include Automatic High Beams, Road Sign Assist, Rear Seat Reminder, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Enhancements in Infotainment Technology

Every 2021 Camry model gets an upgrade in technology with the new 7-inch or 9-inch floating multimedia screen with smart phone-like touch screen icons for ease of operation, and customizable audio and navigation capabilities.

There’s also a 7-inch multi-information display within the instrument cluster that’s available on all trims, and allows for greater functionality and information transfer. An available Head Up Display on the Camry XLE and XSE trims projects important information, like turn-by-turn navigation and speed, right onto the vehicle’s windshield, so you can keep your focus on the road.
